Search
One search box across your lessons, library, flashcards and notes — entitlement-scoped, case-insensitive, with every result deep-linking straight to the item.
Search is a single box that looks across everything you are studying at once. Type a term and CLIP Learn searches four places in parallel — your lessons, the library, your flashcards and your own notes — then groups the matches so you can jump straight to the right one. You only ever see things you are entitled to: lessons and cards from the courses you are enrolled on, library materials for your tenant (or ones you generated yourself), and your own private notes.
Where to find Search
Search lives at /app/search. Open it from the search icon (a magnifying glass) in the top bar, to the left of the notifications bell. The page opens with the cursor already in the box, so you can start typing immediately.
A learner tool
The search icon in the top bar is shown to candidates. Signed in as a learner, you will always find it there — there is nothing to switch on.
Running a search
directors' duties, Salomon or quorum. You need at least two characters; a single character returns nothing./app/search?q=…), so a search is a real, shareable, bookmarkable URL.Matching is case-insensitive, so SALOMON, Salomon and salomon all find the same thing. Each result shows a short snippet centred on where your term appears, with the surrounding words for context.
What each group searches
Every source is matched across several fields, so a term can hit a title, a body, a topic or a tag.

The context line under each result tells you where it sits — a lesson shows its course and module, a library item shows whether it is Official · CGI, Made by CLIP or Yours, a flashcard shows its topic, and a note is labelled Your note.
What you can and cannot see (scoping)
Search never shows you anything you are not entitled to. Each source is scoped independently.

An enrolment counts as active if it has no expiry date, or its expiry date is in the future. Once an enrolment lapses, that course's lessons and flashcards drop out of your results.
No tenant, no results
Search runs within your organisation (tenant). If your account is not yet attached to one, the page returns nothing until it is.
Reading the results
Above the groups, a line reports the total — for example 12 results for "quorum". Within each group, results are ordered with the most recently updated first (flashcards by most recently created).
Each group shows at most 8 matches. If a term is very common and a source has more than eight hits, you will see the eight most recent — narrow your term to surface the rest. Groups with no matches are hidden entirely, so you only ever see the sources that actually contain your term.
Where a result takes you
Most results deep-link precisely:
- Lessons open the exact lesson within its course.
- Library items open their own resource page where one exists; otherwise they open the linked file or external URL (external links open in a new tab).
- Flashcards open the Flashcards page, where you can find the card in its deck.
- Notes open your Notes page.
The empty state
If nothing matches, the page shows a clean placeholder: No matches for "…", with the suggestion to try a shorter term, a key phrase, or a topic name. Because a search needs two characters, a single-character term lands here too. Before you have searched anything, the page simply invites you to type a term above to search everything you're studying.
